4 [ ====== SCENE FOUR ====== ] 4 FADE IN: INT. ROB FIELD'S OFFICE (DAY) Rob and Joshua Jackson are finishing up looking over this week's Grosse Pointe script. Kevin, the P.A., is standing in the doorway with his clipboard. ROB FIELDS ...and that should be it for your guest shot. You'll film one scene today, and finish your other scenes tomorrow. JOSHUA JACKSON Looks good. Thanks for faxing me the script BEFORE I left Wilmington. It gave me a chance to learn my lines on the plane as I flew here to L.A. ROB (standing, extending his hand) I'm just glad we have a star of your quality on the show. JOSH (stands and shakes Rob's hand, not believing the brown-nosing) Thanks, but I'm sure Sarah Michelle Gellar stole the show when she was here. Rob just smiles in response. He does not want to tell Mr. Jackson how the whole incident with Sarah Michelle Gellar actually turned out, especially since Miss Gellar never even made it to the set! ROB Listen, Josh, rumor has it that Hunter Fallow is going to be hassling you all day to go out with her. I thought maybe she could be detained here if she thinks you are going to meet you here while you're actually filming your only scene today with Johnny Bishop. Just write out a note on my stationary once you get to the make-up trailer, and Kevin here will deliver it to Hunter. This way, you won't have to deal with her at all today. JOSH But she seems so nice on TV. ROB Believe me, you don't want Hunter on your tail all day. After your scene, feel free to get to know the rest of my cast. Kevin will help you with everything. Right, Kevin? Kevin mumbles something. Although catering to another spoiled "star" usually depresses him, Kevin had heard that Joshua does not go for the power trip of "star treatment". JOSH (He shakes Kevin's hand) Hey, Kev. How's it going? Kevin shakes hands and mumbles again. JOSH A man of few words, I see. After the twenty-dollar words on my show, it'll be a refreshing change of pace. (Turning back to Rob--) Okay, then. Thanks for the hospitality. I'm going to make-up now and get ready for my scene. ROB Kevin, take Mr. Jackson there. Here's some stationary for the note to Hunter. I'll see you on the set. And Kevin, here's that rewrite. Make copies of it once you've delivered Josh's note to Hunter. Kevin takes the rewrite, then he and Josh leave Rob's office and head over to the make-up trailer. JOSH So, tell me the truth. Rob has never even seen "Dawson's Creek", right? Busted. That morning, Rob had told Kevin that he never saw "Dawson's Creek" before. Kevin tries to cover, but just ends up mumbling something instead again. JOSH Don't worry, dude. It's fine with me. I don't watch "Grosse Pointe" either. Kevin is proud of his work on the show. This comment hurt his pride. As he was about to respond, Josh cuts off his reply. JOSH Kidding! I love this show! You guys ROCK, man. Why else do you think I agreed to guest star this week? KEVIN We work really hard here, you know? JOSH Uh-huh. Hey, so tell me. I've heard rumors that Ashley Hamilton is going to be here this week, too. KEVIN Yep. He's supposed to be here tomorrow to film his scene. Ah, do you know him? JOSH Yeah, we sort of know some of the same people. We had auditioned for the same role a while back. KEVIN Oh. Have you figured out yet what you're going to write in your note to Hunter? JOSH I've got a general idea. By the way, do you have any info about this? (Josh pulls out an invitation and hands it to Kevin.) KEVIN Um, this is an invitation of some sort. The WB's logo is on the envelope? JOSH Yeah, it's to a Valentine's Day dance that the WB's holding on the set of "Charmed". It's a masquerade party, I guess. So, do you know if it's real or not? Kevin had heard rumors that there was a dance that the WB was going to host, but that was all he knew. Kevin mumbles something in response. He then hands the invitation back to Josh, who puts the invite into his back pocket. JOSH Dude, you've got to speak up for yourself, if you don't mind my saying so. Anyway, I don't think I'm going. I don't even have a costume. KEVIN Ah, my uncle owns the costume shop down the street. I could pick up something for you, no charge. JOSH Hey, Kev, that would be great! Let me think about it. I'm still not sure if I'm going or not. KEVIN I could pick up something anyway, just in case. Josh nods as they reach the make-up trailer. JOSH All right, thanks. I owe you. And thanks also for showing me around today. Let me write that note to Hunter and everything will be peachy-keen. ![]() |
