INT WARDROBE (DAY)

Courtney is getting ready for the day in wardrobe as Marcy enters. Marcy is in her cheerleader outfit and Courtney is looking at herself in the mirror and checking to see which sweater looks best on her.

COURTNEY
Happy Valentine's Day, Marcy. Are you going to that masquerade dance party tonight?

MARCY
I received an invitation, but no one's asked me to go with them yet.

COURTNEY
Why don't you ask Dave? I'm sure he'll go with you. I'm thinking of asking Joshua Jackson. Do you think he'll go with me? I was thinking of asking him right after our first scene together today.

MARCY
(reacting to this)
Josh? Ah, I'm...not sure if that is such a good idea.

COURTNEY
We'll see. But if you do decide to go, you can go as Sleeping Beauty.

Marcy does not react to this.

COURTNEY
That was a joke. You know? Since your character was in a coma for so long on the show...Sleeping Beauty?

MARCY
(getting it)
Oh! Hey, that's funny! No, I don't think I'll be going unless...unless, by some miracle, Johnny asks me.

JOHNNY
(enters, hearing Marcy's last sentence)
If I ask you what?

Marcy does not look at Johnny. She is not up for rejection this early in the morning.

COURTNEY
Hey, Johnny. You going to the dance on the set of "Charmed" tonight? I'm going to ask Joshua Jackson to go with me.

JOHNNY
I heard about that. I wonder why I didn't get an invite?

COURTNEY
(trying to be helpful)
Marcy will take you, if you ask her nice.

Johnny gets a sour look on his face as he looks in Marcy's direction and shakes his head no. Then, a lightbulb goes on over his head.

JOHNNY
The set of "Charmed", huh? That's Alyssa Milano's show, right?

COURTNEY
Yep. Don't you just love that show?

JOHNNY
Alyssa's not seeing anyone, is she?

COURTNEY
I think she's dating a famous movie star.

JOHNNY
Who? Freddie Prinze jr? **

COURTNEY
Actually, maybe she was dating her co-star Brian Krause.

JOHNNY
That's all right. She's not MARRIED to the guy, is she?

COURTNEY
No, I don't think so.

JOHNNY
Cool!

Al Santos as Johnny Bishop

COURTNEY
Alyssa will be there, I'm sure.

JOHNNY
(nods and turns to Marcy)
Hey, Marce. Go with me?

MARCY
Huh--? What?

JOHNNY
Would you take me to the dance tonight?

For three years, Johnny has ignored her completely. Now, he is asking her out. Marcy is in total shock and freezes!

COURTNEY
She'd love to go, Johnny.

JOHNNY
Cool. We'll have lunch, Marcy, and talk.

Johnny leaves. Marcy looks faint. All her dreams are about to come true.

COURTNEY
You look pale, Marcy. Are you all right?

MARCY
Uh-huh.

Marcy just stands there, frozen, as she stares at the spot Johnny had been standing a moment before.

CUT TO:

**FREDDIE PRINZE JR: This is sort of an inside joke by the author, since the editor of the SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR episode cut out Courtney's line of mentioning Freddie by name, I thought I would include it here.
